On 18 January 2022, at the invitation of the University of the Grisons (FHGR), Swissctonact facilitated a half-day session for some 20 students from the specialization "Sustainable Tourism and International Development".
Taking the Kosovo project Promoting Private Sector Employment (PPSE) as a case study, the session focused around sustainable change through considerate project design and targeted results measurement.
The session facilitators from Swisscontact and PPSE teams elaborated on how introducing change and ensuring sustainability in tourism development requires the right mix of research, planning, adapting, and building on results in close cooperation with partners. They guided students through the tourism-related work done in Kosovo during the two Phases of PPSE and brainstormed ideas how could the project continue to contribute in Phase III. The presentation delved into aspects such as market systems development, project design, theory of change, and results monitoring and measurement.
The virtual session was organized within a full-week virtual study tour under the theme "The world in a nutshell. More than an excursion".
