Successful Participation of Kosovo at the EMITT Fair, Turkey

Prishtina, 14 February 2022 – The participation of Kosovo at the EMITT 2022 fair resulted in a dignified presentation of the country's tourism offer, the establishment of a new standard for the presentation of tourism, cultural and gastronomic aspects, as well as the establishment of new business links between Kosovo and international businesses.

Baki Hoti, Executive Director of the Kosovo Tourism Union, which organized the participation of Kosovo at this fair, says that as a result, they will sign within March a collaboration agreement with the National Tourism Agency of North Macedonia, and during May, at the invitation of the Mayor of Bursa, a delegation comprising of KTU and tour operator representatives shall introduce the Kosovo tourism offer there during a 4-day stay, and will sign a collaboration agreement between the Municipality of Bursa and the Kosovo Tourism Union.

“I wish to particularly acknowledge the representatives of the Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in Istanbul and the Bursa Cultural Association for visiting Kosovo’s exhibition space and for their collaboration,” says Mr. Hoti.

In addition, KTU has signed a pre-contract with the organizers of the EMITT fair, thus securing favourable exhibition space for the 2023 fair.

Mr. Hoti says “participation of sixteen businesses from the tourism sector of Kosovo at the EMITT 2022 fair was one of the best presentations of Kosovo at similar international fairs. This year we established a new standard of presentation. Apart from the country’s tourism offer, we presented the tradition, culture, and gastronomy of Kosovo, we arranged over 70 B2B meetings between Kosovo and international businesses, we expanded our activities and increased the number of foreign businesses interested in collaborating with us.”

The participation of sixteen Kosovo businesses at the EMITT (East Mediterranean International Tourism & Travel Exhibition) fair was organized by the KTU with the support of the Promoting Private Sector Employment (PPSE) project.
