Helping raise children or look after the elderly or help around the house is a profession with a growing demand in Kosovo. Families and the community need well-trained providers of such services. Care services employ jobseekers, and free up time mostly for women to look for employment. Therefore, the effect is multiplied, with special focus on women’s economic empowerment.
To tackle the demand for qualified care providers, PPSE project started a collaboration with the Women Business Association SHE-ERA to deliver a training program tailored for care services. The first training cycle started last week in Prishtinë/Priština with a group of 15 women.
“The training is spot-on, and I am looking forward to the following days. I feel privileged to be part of such training that gives me an opportunity to expand my knowledge and learn new skills in child and elderly care services,” says Marigona Dushullovci, one of the training participants.
The training program is detailed, with topics ranging from care tips for newborn babies, to child nutrition, child safety, elderly support, day care for the elderly, and household management.
