PHASE TWO OF THE SWISSCONTACT PROJECT IN KOSOVO THAT SUPPORTS EMPLOYMENT IN PRIVATE SECTOR OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

The Promoting Private Sector Employment project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation organized today the ceremony marking the beginning of a four-year phase II of the project until November 2021. The overall goal of the Promoting Private Sector Employment (PPSE) in Kosovo is to provide increased sustainable gainful employment for young women and men in Kosovo through small and medium enterprises that operate in well-organized and inclusive economic sectors.

The two focus sectors are: food and natural ingredients and tourism. 
 
The ceremony was officiated by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Kosovo Jean-Hubert Lebet, the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry Faton Thaçi, the Regional Director of Swisscontact Henry Leerentveld and the Director of Riinvest Institute Alban Hashani. The results expected from phase two of the project and work methodology were presented by the PPSE Deputy Manager Fisnik Reçica. 
 
“Just two weeks earlier, Switzerland launched its Cooperation Strategy for Kosovo for 2017 – 2020, which is developed in complete alignment with the priorities of the Government of Kosovo,” said Ambassador Lebet. He added “Switzerland is Kosovo’s third largest bilateral development partner. The Swiss Government is committed to support Kosovo achieve sustainable economic growth and wellbeing for all.”
