Mountain tour guides are needed in Kosovo, especially during the summer season, to meet the demand from international and local tourists. PPSE has partnered with the Alpine Federation of Kosovo to provide professional instruction to new mountain tour guides in the region of Western Kosovo. Already on the third day of training that started this week, instructors have covered a broad range of topics that any professional guide needs to have. The five-day training instructs the participants how to plan a guide tour, choose a destination, organize long range tours; how to lead a group, use maps and GPS, knowledge of potential risks while in the mountains, first aid and evaluate the physical condition of tour members. The training was concluded on Sunday with the certification of participants.
