"Shala e Bajgorës has a huge potential in developing mountain tourism, cultural tourism, eco-tourism and adventure tourism" stated Faruk Mujka, Deputy Mayor of Mitrovicë/a.

Addressing participants at the fourth public discussion session held on 11 April 2017 in this municipality as part of the series “Tourism for Development: Opportunities to be Used”, Mujka highlighted the potential of tourism development in the region.

The active discussion by participants tackled issues such as: the optimal model for sustainable tourism development, the individual role of each party in creating tourist offers and packages that determine the length of stay, the focus on alternative tourism and industrial heritage. Other issues such the tourism law, accommodation tax, a potential National Tourism Organization and a tourism strategy were also brought up.
