Zip lines, as tourist products supported and promoted by the Private Sector Employment Project (PPSE) in Kosovo, are playing an important role in meeting the demand for adventure tourism and adrenaline-inducing activities. The combination of speed, height, and panoramic views of different regions in Kosovo provides an unforgettable experience for visitors.

In the green valley of Pogragja in the municipality of Gjilan, Green Valley has built and put into operation the tourist attraction 'Zip Line,' which spans 500 meters, making this region highly attractive to tourists and extreme sports enthusiasts.

Due to the extreme nature of the zip line, safety and equipment maintenance require utmost dedication.

In April 2023, Green Valley invited the Inspection Team 'Ropes Course Solutions' based in Sweden - accredited by the European Ropes Course Association (ERCA) - to perform safety inspections, technical functionality, and relevant documentation of the Zip Line. The inspection process concluded that Green Valley Zip Line meets all safety criteria in full compliance with the EN 15567 standard, and it has been successfully certified with the international safety certificate.

To achieve this certification, the owner of Green Valley, Mr. Samir Aliu, has been intensely involved since 2020. He has closely collaborated with the academic staff of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who have conducted rope testing and provided ongoing professional advice for the safe construction of the Zip Line, which is now internationally certified.

PPSE has supported Green Valley Zip Line in covering the cost of technical expertise related to certification.

This support contributes to the safe and sustainable operation of this Zip Line as one of the most attractive tourist products in the Gjilan region. This intervention by PPSE helps raise further awareness among private operators throughout Kosovo to undertake initiatives for regular certification of tourist products.

PPSE is working simultaneously with public and academic institutions to enhance institutional and regulatory capacities to address the long-term maintenance and safety of tourist products in the Republic of Kosovo.
