In collaboration with Driton Havolli from Agrofidanishtja Havolli, we celebrated the grand opening of a state-of-the-art nursery equipped with cutting-edge technologies and best practices for vegetable seedling production. Agriculture plays a pivotal role in Kosovo's economy, contributing to employment and ensuring food security. With the ongoing modernization of nurseries facilitated by the PPSE project, our focus is on supporting the delivery of high-quality seedlings, increasing production yields, and reducing costs for local farmers.
The inauguration of this advanced nursery attracted numerous representatives from Kosovo's agricultural sector and farmers eager to witness firsthand the demonstration of the latest technologies implemented within its premises. Among the notable features already installed in the facility are modern equipment such as mechanized planting tools, a germination room, tables, a shading system, and an automated irrigation system.
In addition to its immediate impact on boosting agricultural productivity, the PPSE project aims to foster sustainable practices in the sector, facilitate market access, and modernize the food value chain. Supported by the Swiss Development Agency, the project is being implemented by Swisscontact in Kosovo and the Riinvest Institute, solidifying the commitment to Kosovo's agricultural advancement.
