A new tourism information center located in the heart of Pristina, Kosovo’s capital, opened on 18 September 2018. The center offers a broad variety of tourism-relevant information such as: maps, guidebooks, brochures, flyers and more for all visitors in the city.
It is estimated that approximately 200,000 visitors and foreign tourists visit Pristina in one year. The visitors may be broken down into these main categories: business purposes, leisure and recreation, and visiting friends and families. One of the shortcomings identified was the lack of sufficient information to assist these visitors with getting around the city.
Therefore, the Municipality of Pristina partnered with Swisscontact’s project Promoting Private Sector Employment to prepare a tourism development strategy for the city, which aims to contribute to sustainable tourism practices.
The tourism information center is part of a pilot-project within the overall strategy.
