A participatory process involving sector stakeholders increases the chances for achieving the goals. In line with this approach, Swisscontact’s Promoting Private Sector Employment project in Kosovo brought together on 29 November 2017 a group of stakeholders from various segments of the food processing sector to analyze the challenges and opportunities in diversification of products, meeting consumer demand, channels of sale, objectives of sale and activities to achieve those objectives.

During the morning and afternoon sessions, participants discussed topics ranging from the technological processes, marketing services, packaging of products, access to finance, fairs and B2B meetings, specific requirements and certifications for the export markets, lack of information for export market demands, and operations. Participants brainstormed ideas on what the parties involved can do to make the most out of these challenges and opportunities identified to contribute to the success of their businesses.

The ideas and results from the session shall be integrated in the longer-term PPSE strategy for the food processing and natural ingredients sector.
