A 450-meter Via Ferrata is the newest public and commercial tourism product in Deçan, expected to launch in spring 2021. After signing the tri-partite agreement that will initiate the construction of the Via Ferrata, the new project will enrich the tourism offer in the area.
The Via Ferrata Deçan at Gryka e Lumbardhit will be a complete product including a 25-meter long “Tibetan Bridge” that serves as the starting point of the climbing path that leads climbers to the most prominent mountain peak, overlooking the Deçan Gorge and the Accursed Mountains, where resting facilities will also be constructed.
This is a project of the Kosovo Mountain Club, co-financed by the Municipality of Deçan and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation through the Promoting Private Sector Employment project. The key goal of the project is to help expand the tourism offer of this area, impact directly on the increased number of visitors, and create more employment opportunities.
