On 6 March 2017, PPSE signed a grant agreement with Rec Plast to support the company’s concept of providing plastic waste collection services and recycling of sorted waste into granules and other products. The new investment consists of washing line technology, transportation, containers and warehouse.

The PPSE support will enable Rec Plast to expand its business model, which will also contribute to the environmental protection through proper management and aggregation capacities of recyclable waste, as the business model will have special focus on Rugova valley touristic area.

Additionally, the business model will create favorable conditions for sustainable employment of informal collectors involved in this sector by formalizing them. It is expected that some 20 full time new jobs will be created in the first year, will 20 others in the second year.
